Ambassador Denise Campbell Bauer, of California, was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco on December 23, 2021.

A native of California, David joined the Foreign Service in March 1998 and has served on five continents. He is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with rank of Minister Counselor. David began his assignment as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Paris in August 2022.

Yvonne Gonzales assumed her duties as consul general of the United States of America in Strasbourg in August 2023. She and her team represent the United States in the Great East region of France, and Ms. Gonzales serves as deputy permanent observer to the Council of Europe.

Richard Johns commenced his duties as U.S. Consul in Lyon in August 2022. His most recent assignment was at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, where he managed personnel operations and worked on the evacuation and resettlement of the local Afghan staff to
the United States.
