Consul General Jessica Huaracayo

Consul General Jessica HuracayoJessica Huaracayo assumed her duties as Consul General of the United States of America in Marseille in August 2023. She and her team represent the United States in three French regions
(Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur – “PACA”, the former Languedoc-Roussillon part of Occitanie, and Corsica) and the Principality of Monaco.

Ms. Huaracayo joined the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in 2003 and most recently served as deputy political counselor in Madrid (2019-2022). Her other overseas assignments include Havana, Cuba; Lima, Peru; Tijuana, Mexico; and Copenhagen, Denmark. Jessie’s Washington assignments include the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations, where she covered Latin America; the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, where she was a Central America analyst; and the Office of the Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan.

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Ms. Huaracayo studied Diplomacy and World Affairs at Occidental College in Los Angeles and received a Master of Science in National Security Strategy
from the National War College in 2023. She speaks Spanish and French; her Danish is rusty. Ms. Huaracayo enjoys running, cycling, dancing listening to live music performances of almost all
genres, and reading. She is married and has two children.
