Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France

Location: Paris (Place de la Concorde and Place de la République) and other major cities in France, including Nantes and Caen.
Demonstrations by various groups protesting police violence are scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2020. All gatherings greater than 10 people remain prohibited under COVID-19 social distancing provisions. However, certain groups could defy these instructions and carry on with planned demonstrations, prompting police intervention.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep a low profile
  • Notify friends and family of your safety
