Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France

Location: Lyon: Announced gathering point and route includes, but is not limited to, Place des Terreaux towards Place Bellecour, then “vieux Lyon” in front of the former location of Generation Identitaire – 5 montée du Change – and then back to Place des Terreaux. Other protests throughout France as well.
Event: An Antifa demonstration is expected to take place in Lyon on Saturday April 3, beginning at 14:30 (2:30 p.m.). Many groups whose demonstrations have a history of violence are expected to participate, and U.S government employees have been instructed to avoid the area of the protest due to the risk of violence.
Additional demonstrations involving Antifa and black bloc groups are expected in:
- Paris: April 3 at Rue General de Boissieu (15th) in front of BFMTV at 13:30 (1:30 p.m.)
- Bordeaux: April 3 at the Place de la Bourse at 14:00 (2:00 p.m.).
Actions to Take:
- Avoid the Montparnasse/Denfert Rochereau area on Saturday afternoon.
- Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
- Monitor local media for updates
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Keep a low profile
