Event: Following the announcement of results of the first round of the French Presidential election this Sunday, April 10, spontaneous gatherings are expected throughout France after 8:00 p.m. Authorities have warned some may turn violent, depending on the election results. In addition to the spontaneous protests, one protest is already planned in Rennes starting at 8:00 p.m., that could also turn violent depending on the results. U.S. government employees have been told to monitor local news for reports of violence and to avoid Place de Sainte Anne in Rennes and other protest areas Sunday night.

- Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
- Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
- Monitor local media for updates
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Keep a low profile
