Location:  Paris along the Champs-Elysées.

Event:  Demonstration expected to take place on Saturday January 8 beginning at 9:00 a.m.  The Gilet Jaunes intend to protest the health pass and legislation to convert it to a vaccination pass.  Due to the possibility of clashes with police by some participants, U.S. Mission employees have been told to avoid the area.  Additional demonstrations against the pass are planned for other locations in Paris and in other major cities in France.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations 
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep a low profile
