Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France (June 3, 2022)

Location:  Announced gathering points and routes include, but are not limited to:

  • Paris, Porte de St. Ouen towards St Bernard
  • Marseille, La Plaine — Bd Chave

Event:  Demonstrations are expected to take place:

  • Paris: Saturday June 4, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
  • Marseille: Sunday June 5, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Authorities have informed us these demonstrations have the potential to become disruptive or violent.  U.S. government employees have been told to avoid the areas of these two protests.  Additional demonstrations, not expected to turn violent, are expected in Paris, Marseille, and other cities in France this weekend.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep a low profile
