Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France (March 11, 2022)

Location:  Corsica, in front of Prefecture in Ajaccio

Event:  Demonstration expected to take place on Sunday, March 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m. by Corsican nationalists.  Several people were injured during a similar protest in Ajaccio earlier this week, and the courthouse was set on fire.  U.S. government employees have been told to avoid the area of the protest.

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep a low profile
