Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Paris, France (November 5, 2021)

Location: France-wide

Event: Disruptive and potentially violent protests against the health pass are expected throughout France on Saturday, November 6.  Protests numbers are expected to be high.  U.S. government employees have been instructed to avoid these protests.  At this time, the Embassy is aware of the following specific protests:Paris

  • 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Convergence of Gilet Jaunes protests, Place de la Republique (11th)
  • 1:30 p.m., Against the Sanitary Pass, Avenue du Gal Martial Valin (15th) towards Place Clement Ader (16th), passing BFMTV, France TV, and CNews
  • 2:00 p.m., Gilet Jaunes, Place Pierre Laroque (7th arrondissement) towards Ministry of Health (7th arrondissement)
  • 2:00 p.m., Les patriotes – Florian Philippot, Place de Barcelone (16th) towards Place Pierre Laroque (7th)
  • 2:00 p.m., Gilet Jaunes, Place Coluche (13th) towards Place de la Republique (11th)
  • 2:30 p.m. Gilets Jaunes, Place de la Bourse (2nd) towards Place du Palais Royal (1st)


  • 1:30 p.m., Gilets Jaunes, Place Kleber


  • 12:30 p.m., Gilets Jaunes, Place Marechal Lyautey
  • 2:00 p.m., Gilets Jaunes, Metro Brotteaux


  • 1:00 p.m., Gilets Jaunes, Vieux Port

Actions to Take:

  • Avoid the areas of the demonstrations
  • Exercise caution if in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests
  • Monitor local media for updates
  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Keep a low profile
