Dr. Lindsay Krasnoff from the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Historian talked sports diplomacy with over 100 students, professors and faculty members of Ecole Centrale Nantes engineering school. Dr. Krasnoff focused on the historical evolution of sports as an informal and formal tool of soft power, and how states have used and abused sports over time. She also examined the differing French and U.S. models of sports diplomacy.
