Winners of the American Science Fair for young women studying science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) took a field trip to Versailles to attend Solar Decathlon Europe. The trip coincided with the U.S. Embassy organized “American Day” where the Rennes team of future female scientists and engineers and the Director of International Relations of the French Rectorate learned about science diplomacy and gender equality. The day involved meeting American universities students competing at SDE as well as exposure to U.S. culture with Hawaiian and Country Line dance performances.
