INFORMATIONS IMPORTANTES

If your Social Security benefits were not paid in March, your benefits have been probably suspended because we did not receive the annual questionnaire form that was mailed to you twice last year 2022.

To reinstate your benefit payments, you will need to print and complete one of the forms listed below.

  • If you are a Social Security beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7162
  • If you are the Representative Payee for a beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7161

When completing the form, please include your full name, address, contact telephone number, 9-digit SSN and sign the form. Once signed, mail the completed form to:

Once we receive the completed form, we will inform the SSA to reinstate benefits. Any past due benefits will be deposited into your bank account. Thank you.

Rendez-vous pour le service et assistance

Appointments are only accepted for Social Security number applications. Only first time SSN applicants, aged 12 and above, are required to appear at the U.S. Embassy in person.


To request an appointment, email FBU.Paris@ssa.gov.  The FBU unit will reply to your email and propose a date and time, usually in the afternoons, for the appointment. 

All other requests for services/assistance are handled by letter, email, fax, or telephone. 

The Federal Benefits Unit cannot provide service to applicants who visit the Consular Section for routine services if they have not contacted the Federal Benefits Unit in advance.
