Description: The Anglo-American Group of Provence is a non-profit organization serving the native English speaking community of Provence and chartered to promote friendly relations with our host community, provide assistance and information for expatriates and to preserve and promote our anglophone heritage.
Our members (400 families or 700 adults) have a wealth of knowledge concerning all aspects of life in Provence and are most willing to share it. We have a number of clubs which meet monthly or weekly, and special events like parties and excursions.

Description: The AUC of Provence, located in both Aix and Marseille, offers advanced immersion French programs to American university students. Setting standards in both French language acquisition and intercultural sensitivity development, the AUCP combines an all-French-speaking environment, individual homestay placement, community service, and rigorous coursework taught by French university faculty. Courses in Aix focus upon French language and literature, the arts, and cross-cultural communication. The Marseille program focuses on international relations, immigrant identities, Arabic language and culture, and includes a week of on-site study in Morocco.

Description: Students may study in France for a summer, a semester, or any combination of academic units. Vanderbilt’s program in Aix-en-Provence celebrated its fortieth anniversary in 2001 and is one of the two oldest study abroad programs for Americans in this charming city. Vanderbilt in France has been located for thirty-five years in a historic building on one of the most picturesque streets in Aix, la Rue Cardinale.

Description: The program begins in Paris. Participants who begin in the fall start with a four-week orientation including classes in language, literature, and contemporary culture that offer an in-depth introduction to the intellectual and cultural life of France. After Paris, the group heads south to Aix, whose rich history, picturesque architecture, and beautiful open-air markets make it a truly extraordinary place to live and study.
