KOA MOANA 16-4 conducting joint military training in Tahiti.
U.S. Naval Ship PILILAAU – U.S. Marines with Exercise KOA MOANA (Ocean Warrior) 16-4 intend to conduct a joint military training exercise in Tahiti, during the week of 21 September. Marines are expected to conduct bilateral training on small unit tactics with the Régiment d’Infanterie de Marine du Pacifique – Polynésie (RIMAP-P).
The purpose of this exercise is to improve interoperability with the RIMAP-P, enhance military-to-military relations, and expose U.S. Marine Corps forces to different types of terrain for familiarity in the event of a natural disaster in the region.
