Charge d’Affaires ad interim Mark Taplin welcomed former President of the United States Jimmy Carter and international champion of human rights Hina Jilani, both members of The Elders, to the Embassy April 23.

The Elders, founded by Nelson Mandela, work to advance peace and human rights throughout the world. They are in Paris to promote dialogue on important issues like climate change, advocate for stability throughout Africa and end the conflict in the Middle East.
