The U.S. Consulate General in Strasbourg was very happy to team up with Americans in Alsace Association and its Theater Group (ATG) and stage Seussical Jr. (by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty) Musical in Strasbourg. The mission of the ATG is to produce annual theater productions showcasing American themed plays and to offer theater instruction to children and adults in the Strasbourg area.
Seussical Jr. became a smash hit and sold full houses all five times it was performed from 11 to 19 October, 2014.
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of our other favorite Dr. Seuss characters sprang to life onstage in Seussical Jr. The performance transported the audience from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, and the narrator, told the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. In the tale, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged, but they emerge triumphant.

The U.S. Consulate General in Strasbourg would like to congratulate the students, the parents and all people involved in putting this wonderful show together for their hard work. What a wonderful experience!
