Immigrant Visas: Exceptional Filing at U.S. Embassy Paris

  • The U.S. Embassy Paris Consular Section is only able to accept and process Form I-130 in exceptional circumstances. Petitioners who believe that their situation merits an exception may send a request to the Consular Section by using the contact form.
  • The Consular Section will relay the request to the USCIS office with jurisdiction over France at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy.  The determination of whether the case presents exceptional circumstances that warrant an exception will be made by USCIS.  Questions for USCIS can be directed to: uscis.rome@dhs.gov
  • For guidance on the circumstances that may qualify as exceptional, see the USCIS website.
