World AIDS Day 2016
LEADERSHIP. COMMITMENT. IMPACT.
December 1, 2016
Thirty-five years ago, since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, we have made tremendous progress to address HIV/AIDS in Africa and around the world with far greater urgency and action. However, there is still much work to be done.
On World AIDS Day 2016, join the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in celebrating the theme “Leadership. Commitment. Impact.” In the spirit of this theme, we are proud to share a variety of new announcements and resources, highlighting the progress we have made together and reaffirming our shared commitment to ending the epidemic.

Adolescent Girls and Young Women
Empowering adolescent girls and women is the most urgent and effective action we can take to end HIV/AIDS.
Healthy children create prosperous communities. PEPFAR is improving the lives of millions of children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
PEPFAR is dedicated to ensuring no one is left behind in accessing HIV/AIDS services.
Data for Impact
PEPFAR is using data to accelerate the achievement of the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals and epidemic control.
Sustainability and Partnerships
Partnerships are the cornerstone of PEPFAR’s work. Everyone must play a part in achieving and sustaining an AIDS-free generation.
