If your passport is lost or stolen while in France, you can apply for an emergency passport. No appointment is needed. Please come to the Embassy’s Consular entrance (4 avenue Gabriel) any Embassy business day between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. An emergency passport is generally available the same day. You will need: • Application Form DS-11 for each applicant (hard copies are available in the waiting room if you can’t access and print the online form) • Report of Lost/Stolen Passport Form DS-64 for each lost/stolen passport (hard copy form available in the waiting room) • Passport photo 5 cm by 5 cm (photo machine available in the waiting room for a fee of 4 euros payable in euro coin or credit card) • Proof of ID, if available (driver’s license, prior passport, foreign passport, student ID, etc.) • Evidence of citizenship, if available (birth certificate, copy of prior passport (but be aware, phones are not allowed in the waiting room) • A police report is not normally required to obtain an emergency passport but can be useful in case immigration has questions when you depart France or another Schengen Zone country. While you can leave France with an emergency passport, France does not allow you to enter France with it. If your travel plans involve travel outside of the Schengen Zone followed by a return to France to depart for the United States, you will need to rearrange your trip or rearrange your travel plans.
